The Original house was built of whipsawed lumber in 1850 by D.E. Easterbrook. It was located in the middle fork of the north fork of the Yuba river. (Now named Lavezzola Rd) Vicivius Dodson purchased this ranch of 160 Acres on March 23rd of 1859, and continued the operation as a trading post and it also served as a stop over for the pack trains carrying supplies. Beef was also raised here for the surrounding Country. Mr.Dodson closed operations at the Ranch in 1911 as the mines were closing down. James Hunt purchased the Land in 1911 and passed it on to Mr. McCullough , Sadly the original house was destroyed by fire
